Values are beliefs about what is regarded as good or desirable in social work. They can range from those which are relatively superficial, to those which represent more fundamental beliefs. In social work they would include values about how we believe the world (and society) should be; what constitutes a good person; and how people should behave towards one another. These will normally be congruent with broader values in the society or culture, or the laws of the land. (DHSC, 2018)
